On the road to kingdom come.

Posted on September 02 2021

It's Thursday night and I'm not at the Lordville Estate. The pond restoration project took an extra day and I had lots of cleanup work to do after the excavator departed.  He did a fantastic job working with some of the wettest material (pond dredging's) you could ever imagine.  Don't want to jinx the project but the inlets and outlets should be able to withstand whatever mother nature can throw at them for the rest of my years.

Jean arrived back home yesterday at 1:30 and we had the peaches canned by 4:30.Will be hauling another trailer load of basement debris to the transfer station, probably tomorrow, and then plan to get reacquainted with the fishing camp and the river system. Ida smacked the Beaverkill hard but seemed to let the rest of the system off lightly. I'm sure there were people fishing today and by tomorrow both branches should be easily wadeable.  The water beneath the thermocline in the Cannonsville Reservoir has been used up and the WB water will probably contain increasing amounts of silt for the rest of the fall. Perhaps it will make it easier to fool some fish.

Fished all afternoon Tuesday at stilesville till 7:30 pm. The skunk got me. First time in a long time. Not many bugs and almost no fish rising. Sulfur’s and Bwo were the bugs I saw. Fish seemed to be eating below the surface on the rises I did see.
Will try again over the weekend
Can’t wait to hear how A 119 does. Looking for advice.
