FUDR, the NY League of Conservation Voters and the newly formed Alliance for the Upper Delaware River Watershed have been working hard in 2019 to generate new funding from New York State for the protection and restoration of the Upper Delaware watershed.
This new state funding will supplement the $1.4 million in federal funding we received earlier this year from the federal Delaware River Basin Restoration Program that supports the implementation of on-the-ground stream protection projects below the NYC Delaware basin water supply reservoirs.
These projects protect aquatic habitat and the UDR wild trout fishery, create new river based recreational opportunities, mitigate the damaging impacts of flooding, and boost local economies through tourism promotion and the creation of local jobs.
We need your help! Please take a moment to send a letter to NY Governor Andrew Cuomo urging him to include UDR watershed funding in his 2020 Executive Budget.
It’s easy! Click on this link to send your letter!
