Are we killing the 2022 (and 2023, 2024…) fishing seasons by catching too many now?

Posted on August 03 2021

Record heat. Record low water. Record numbers of anglers now fishing as a result of the pandemic. And we’re already seeing documented declines in fish populations in many rivers throughout the country.

If we don’t at least talk about easing off the throttle—encouraging anglers to be less dependent on the bobber, and stop thinking that a “good day” means catching no fewer than 30 fish—we’re hosing ourselves.

Please give this a read, and think about promoting the “technique slam” more often.
