Position Description

The Marketing Manager works closely with the Director of Development and Communications and Membership and Communications Manager to strategically plan and execute BTT’s marketing, public relations and communications efforts.

Location This position is based in Coral Gables, Florida and reports to the Director of Development and Communications.

Start Date Immediate.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing BTT’s marketing plan with support from the Director of Development and Communications and the Membership and Communications Coordinator.

(S)he is responsible for content curation, including advertisements, posters, clothing and promotional items, sponsorship and project documents, website content creation and management, membership campaigns, store offerings and all social media and blog strategy, content and promotion.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for photography and videography, whether self-produced or collected from other contributors; maintaining photography and video archives; along with other staff, writing articles and creating videos to help advance the mission and create awareness about the organization and the issues it is addressing through strategic marketing and promotion.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for BTT’s media relations, including reaching out to new media outlets, managing existing media relationships, and securing ad, video, radio and article placement with media partners.

The Marketing Manager is the primary production manager for the annual BTT journal, which includes managing the journal timeline, content, layout and design. These efforts will be supported by the Membership and Communications Coordinator and the Director of Development and Communications.

S(he) supports efforts to establish new partnerships to advance BTT’s marketing and membership objectives and helps manage existing corporate partnerships.

Qualifications

Requirements for the Marketing Manager position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and four or more years relevant experience in marketing, public relations and/or communications.
  • Strong writing ability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a small office environment and work in a collaborative role with others.
  • Demonstrated ability in using discretion where appropriate and maintaining confidentiality in all matters, especially pertaining to donors and their records.
  • Ability to travel frequently and on short notice.
  • Knowledge of recreational fisheries, fishing and the philanthropic markets associated with them a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Graphic Design experience a must.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) preferred.
  • Video and photo editing experience preferred.

Compensation: Competitive among non-profit organizations and commensurate with experience.
