Chuitna: More Than Salmon on the Line
It is absolutely ridiculous what is proposed here…
Down the middle of a remote river, spawning grounds to all 5 species of salmon, breeding ground for moose and home to bear, PacRim, a Texas mining company wants to build the largest open pit coal mine in AK. The will dig down 300 feet below grade to extract the lowest grade of industrial coal to ship across the Pacific and have promised to “rebuild” the river afterwards. Not on our clock! Share please!
