We’re pleased to report that it looks like the Upper Delaware River will get a much needed pulse of cold water during this brutal week of hot weather and rising water temperatures. Based on information we received this morning, we expect an additional 300 cfs reservoir release for a 48 hour period beginning at midnight tonight. This is good news for the cold water ecosystem that our communities and wildlife rely on for economic and environmental health. And it’s a teachable moment…instead of a last minute emergency mobilization effort every time it gets hot, we think it’s a much better idea to formalize a thermal release protocol. We’ll keep working hard on that and we’ll need your help! Thanks for your support!
