As of close of business Friday, the Decree Parties have failed to overcome the stalemate in negotiations over the next management plan for the NYC Upper Delaware River basin reservoirs.
NY, PA, DE, and NYC have all indicated a willingness to sign another one-year extension of the existing plan (FFMP). Click here for NYC statement on the state of negotiations
New Jersey continues to take the position that they will not endorse another one-year extension unless their list of water resource demands is met by the other Decree Parties.
The May 31 deadline is looming and, without unanimous agreement of the parties, a 1980’s approach to reservoir management will automatically take effect on June 1.

If that happens, reservoir releases to the Upper Delaware River will drop dramatically posing grave threats to the UDR economy and cold water fishery and the entire Delaware River watershed.

Do everything in your power to avoid Revision 1 by adopting a management plan for the NYC Delaware reservoirs before June 1 that protects the Upper Delaware River and the entire Delaware watershed.
