FUDR and the UDR Tailwaters Coalition hosted a well attended press conference in Deposit, NY on October 7 to celebrate $1.2 million in federal river restoration grants for the Upper Delaware watershed. NY Congressman Antonio Delgado spoke to the audience about the importance of these grants to the local economy, tourism, and ecological health. We were joined by local elected officials, conservation organizations, landowners, and recreational interests. The tide is turning in the Upper Delaware River watershed with this significant new investment that will maintain water quality, protect public infrastructure, restore aquatic habitat, and enhance river based recreational opportunities.
