GEAR REVIEW - The Smith Creek Rod Rack

Posted on December 28 2017

With the day after Christmas as a holiday off from work, I had some time to tinker around in unboxing and installing the new Smith Creek Rod Rack in our Honda Element.  Smith Creek is known for innovations in fly fishing and this product is more of the same.  Great idea meets well thought out design equals a new essential piece of kit.

The Rod Rack took just minutes to install and this is a great option for an angler that isn't looking for an exterior rod box but still wants a way to travel with fly rods or conventional tackle rods from Point A to Point B.

My plan is to use this in the Element for a bit but will likely move it over to our all terrain golf cart before spring for making trips back and forth from the family pond with the kayaks in tow.

I took a few photographs from unbox to complete install but missing one image showing how easily the circle carabiners work on the grab handles above the clam shell back doors of the Element.  I'll add this image soon to the mix.
