As many of you are well aware, a major category 4 hurricane, Hurricane Joaquin, made landfall last week causing a great deal of destruction throughout the Bahamas.
We were very fortunate not to have been affected by the hurricane here on South Andros, but unfortunately that was not the case for many of our friends in the southeastern islands. Many have lost everything and our thoughts are with all those affected.
It has been inspiring to see the outpouring of help being organized to assist those that have been devastated by Joaquin, and we applaud all those who have lent a helping hand in this time of need.
