Hyde, the Milwaukee based company that aims to increase life jacket usage and save lives with their product, The Wingman, has announced its appearance on “Shark Tank”.
Hyde Co-founders, Pat Hughes and Mike Fox, have bootstrapped their business and are seeking an investment to scale up and make waves in the water safety industry. “A lot of time, emotion, and thought went into filming our segment so it is just great news for us to see that it is set to air. We are excited about the visibility this will create for our company and product,” said Fox.
Their product, the Wingman, is the world’s thinnest and most versatile inflation vest and first US Coast Guard (USCG) approved inflatable life jacket designed for in water activities. “Minimalism and comfort were our first priority; we wanted to create the thinnest life jacket possible so that triathletes and surfers could actually wear it in the water,” said Hughes, “Once we achieved this, we took it a step further by adding optional features for paddlers, fishermen, and boaters. The Wingman can be used in an endless array of configurations and users can optimize it for whatever activity they are doing that day. Existing life jackets are so uncomfortable and limiting, and yet everyone has to wear them; we wanted to rethink the product category and give consumers an innovative option instead of the same old tired designs.” The Wingman is available only on their website www.wingmanlifejacket.com.
The Sharks on this panel are Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, Daymond John, Kevin O’Leary and as a guest Shark, the founder of Spanx and Billionaire, Sara Blakely. Will any of the Sharks be convinced to part with their hard-earned cash and provide funding to these two entrepreneurs or will they walk away empty handed?
You will find out on Sunday, January 21st, 10:00 PM ET/PT on ABC when the Wingman pitch airs on “Shark Tank”.
