Idaho Tourism "Slingshots" Back, Montana Invests in Access

Posted on July 08 2010

In the Idaho Statesman, Roger Phillips reports that Idaho guides are actually seeing an uptick in bookings. This despite recent restrictions on river access and government consideration of state parks closures. “Whitewater rafters and fly fishermen might not tilt Idaho’s economy back into the black or put all the unemployed back to work. But many believe small businesses will recover fastest from the recession, and small businesses are the core of Idaho’s recreation industry.”
Meanwhile Montana hopes to buy 89 acres on Sixteenmile Creek for a new fishing access site.
