At Andros South, we work with a lot of casters on a day to day basis looking to improve their cast. One of the areas many of our guests are most interested in improving is their double haul, and for good reason.. It’s a game changer on the flats!

Like most casting faults, we tend to see many of the same reoccurring casting errors throughout the season. When it comes to the double haul, by far the most common mistake we from casters who are use to double hauling is a haul that’s not proportional to the amount of line being cast.

In fact, you may have noticed this in your own cast. If you’re already comfortable double hauling, but find that your cast tends to fall apart when lengthening out your cast, part of the problem might actually be your haul itself! So, with that in mind, we decided to put together a quick video on how to improve your double haul to create smoother, tighter loops to help punch through the wind and/or add distance to your cast.

Enjoy!
