Last week, severe rainstorms caused flooding regionwide, and New York's Salmon River, which normally runs in the 350-to-700-cubic-feet-per-second range, jumped to an astonishing 25,000 cfs. By late this week, though, river levels had dropped to a more manageable 1,500 cfs, and anglers were out in force, chasing steelhead and salmon running out of Lake Ontario.
