Michael Gracie interviews fly fishing guide Amanda Switzer about life before and after “Guide House” and the new rod company she is starting with her husband.
Rise Fishing fly rods will be on the market in just a few weeks, and Switzer explains why she would consider entering an already crowded market: “[A]fter seeing the prototypes and realizing we really could put out great product that was affordable, I told Steve I was in as long as we could donate something to fisheries preservation and education.” Case in point: Rise is supplying rods to all the kids who can’t afford them for Trout Unlimited’s summer youth camps.
