Patagonia Fly Fish Ambassador and film actor Jasper Pääkkönen is arguably Finland’s official fish activist who publicly battles anything
and everything from non-sustainable fisheries management and fishing
politics to hydro power and it’s devastating effects on rivers and
migrating fish populations. His campaigning has resulted in many
significant improvements in fishing laws and regulations.Jasper
was recently invited to be a guest judge in Finland’s Top Chef’s
seafood episode to monitor that the contestants made responsible choices
when choosing their ingredients in their seafood dishes. The other
guest judge was Stefan Richter who many remember from Top Chef USA
season 5 where he was the runner-up and again from Top Chef USA’s All
Star season.
