The new Saltwater OutBound Short fly line from RIO is designed to quickly load the rod via a slightly more front-weighted head than the AFTMA standard. The company says that with an overall head length of only 30 feet and a short rear taper, it easily allows anglers to make fast, one-shot casts and gives fly fishers a heightened advantage when targeting moving fish — especially fast-moving fish like tarpon, permit and trevally.
This new line also has a 10-foot long clear, intermediate tip designed for spooky fish and for coping with tough winds. It features a hard, tropical coating, manufactured with AgentX, DualTone and XS Technologies. The line is built on an “easy-stretching, medium stiff core that ensures the line does not wilt in the heat” and includes welded loops on both ends for fast, easy rigging.
The new lines are available in WF8 through WF12, with a MSRP of $79.95, from all authorized RIO dealers.
