Based on the popular Diamondglass Series, the new Diamondback Glass rods are constructed from Diamondback‘s proprietary S2 fiberglass blend and feature a midnight-blue gloss blank, dark-blue wraps, and silver accent wraps. These new glass rods are designed to be ultra-accurate at close range, yet capable of reaching out when necessary. Each model has a unique taper that maintains the distinct glass touch in the tip and mid-section — making them ideal for dry fly fishing — yet provides enough backbone to set the hook and play large fish.
The reel seats feature a burled Mappa insert and either a slide band (6′ 2-weight to 6’6″ 2-weight) or uplocking hardware (7′ 3-weight to 8’6″ 4-weight). The 6′ 2-weight through the 6’6″ 3-weight are 2-pieces, while the 7’ 3-weight through 8’6″ 4-weight are 4-piece rods. MSRP is $299.
