FUDR and our conservation partners joined U.S. Congressman Antonio Delgado, NY State Senator Jennifer Metzger, and State Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther to celebrate the placement of 14 new roadside signs, erected by the New York State Department of Transportation, welcoming drivers to the Upper Delaware River watershed. Watershed signage is a popular and cost effective educational tool that has been in place for decades in many of America’s most iconic watersheds. The new signs in New York mark the first time that roadside signage has been erected to delineate Delaware River watershed borders in any of the four states (NY, PA, NJ, DE) that touch the river.
