November Vote Will Also Decide Constitutional Right to Fish in Four States

Posted on October 17 2010

As Reuters reported last week, when “voters in Arizona, Arkansas, South Carolina and Tennessee go to the polls to cast their ballots in the congressional elections on Nov 2, they will also be asked if they support making hunting and fishing constitutional rights.”
Proponents of the changes — like some in Tennessee — are fearful that increasing urbanization is causing residents to lose touch with the land, while groups like The Sierra Club are warning that constitutional changes will limit the ability of the states to pass better wildlife management laws.
