President Hoover's Fly Fishing Camp

Turns out Hoover’s famed camp in Virginia’s Shenandoah National Park got started with a publicity stunt: “In a nutshell, William Carson, then a Virginia official, lured Hoover by raving about the land, building a road, buying fishing rights and stocking the river with trout.” Lee Graves talks about the former president’s approval rating and the camp that sits where the Laurel Prong and Mill Prong form the Rapidan River.
