Quick Sun Glasses Clean-Give ’em a Lick!

Posted on February 25 2019

I have a routine before I start fishing for the day and the first thing on this list is to clean my sun glasses.  I cannot stand having dirty glasses with big distracting smudges on them.  I also cannot begin to tell you how many times I have started my day with nice clean sun glasses just to find them covered with saltwater splashes after the first boat ride of the morning. I keep alcohol swabs in all my fishing packs but these are more reserved for a thorough cleaning during a lunch break.  A solution for a quick clean?  Give your glasses a lick!  You can use your saliva to remove the saltwater from the lenses of the glasses before giving them a wipe on your shirt.  If you try and wipe the lens without a lick (or a splash of fresh water), you will just smear the leftover salt around.  A lick of the lens before a quick shirt rub wont be as good as a new pair of glasses but it will give you a smudge-less view to get back to looking for that tailing bonefish!
