Report from the Field - Oregon Coast Steelhead
I have steelhead fished for nearly all of my life. I grew up in Oregon where the sheer abundance of steelhead pales anything else in the lower 48 states by far. And while the Deschutes, North Umpqua and Rogue Rivers are world renowned, I enjoy asking those who consider themselves a “serious” or “dedicated” steelheader to name a few other rivers in the area… makes a great measuring stick! We beat up our Patty gear (Rio Gallegos waders and Stormfront pack) on this trip and it all did fantastic… 15+ miles of bushwhacking through all things thorny and zero leaks!
