Reports from the Field - Mongolia
Mongolia, the land of barren deserts, camels, rich in prehistoric history and home to one of the largest salmonids on the planet, the Taimen.
Here, Peter Fong from Mongolia River Outfitters (MRO) covers the joint efforts from the 2012 season with MRO, Nomadic Journeys, World Wildlife Fund and Patagonia’s World Trout Initiative to help preserve these magnificent fish. The Taimen Conservation Fund was started by Charlie Conn at Sweetwater and the National Taimen Awareness Campaign is being coordinated by Susan Higgins of the Tributary Fund in Bozeman and both are working tirelessly on these efforts.
