Sandy River Debris to Become Trout Habitat

Posted on February 04 2011

The Freshwater Trust will use the large logs uprooted by the recent flooding of Oregon’s Sandy River to create habitat for rainbow trout and chinook and coho salmon in the Sandy River Basin, reports Matt Buxton in The Oregonian. “Oregon Department of Transportation crews have spent the past three weeks clearing the logs, and the largest ones were donated to the restoration group.”
