Here’s the outline for Silver Fishing 101.
- Fish slow pockets of water.
- Use a floating line and a weighted fly to get a nice jigging action when you retrieve.
- Strip set when the fish eats.
If you’ve been to Alaska West in August you’ve done this stuff and seen it work a whole bunch of times. If you haven’t fished for silvers in a crazy fishery like the Kanektok, have a look!
