The second-annual Project Healing Waters Salmon River weekend, held over the winter by the Fort Drum and Syracuse chapters, does as much for volunteers as it does returning veterans. And with two writers in attendance, Christian Fitchel and Matt Smythe, the stories crafted are ones giving a firsthand look at the power of brotherhood and the healing power of a fly rod and moving water.
