Taking the Right Fish

Posted on November 09 2011

Photographer Louis Cahill pens an excellent short essay on Gink and Gasoline about the reasons why we should pay attention to which fish we kill.  Beyond the ethics of taking and not taking fish, we are all obliged to make a choice when it comes to killing wild fish, he says.   “My point is, if you are inclined to take a fish, the stocker is your guy. They may be homely but they’re tasty. Unfortunately there is all too frequently something else going through an anglers mind when they decide to keep a fish.”
