- The Bonefish and Tarpon Trust Fin Clip Challenge will run from March 1st until March 23rd 2016. Sumitted samples will help support research and Yeti’s Bonefish Genetics Program. Find out more and read information on how to collect samples via BTT.
- A new study from Dr. Jon Hare and his colleagues at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), outlines the effects of climate change on fish populations. “Increasing ocean temperatures, changes in ocean salinity and circulation, sea level rise and ocean acidification are some of the biggest threats to fish and shellfish,” writes Carl Safina via National Geographic.
- Critical habitat for juvenile wild salmon and steelhead around Lelu Island and Flora Bank at the mouth of the Skeena River, are under threat from a proposed $12 billion gas export terminal being pushed by Malaysia’s state owned oil and gas conglomerate, Petronas. - The Utah Supreme Court has granted Victory Ranch and the State of Utah’s motions to stay Judge Pullan’s November ruling, which opened thousands of miles of water to anglers and other recreational users.
