Tippets: Short Casts, Concerns on Mt. Polley Mine

Posted on November 26 2014

  • While distance casts are important, accuracy is a huge part of success and perhaps “the most valuable asset,” writes Bruce Chard, “is speed.” In a recent article, Chard goes over some techniques for making short casts on salt flats.
  • Months after the Mt. Polley mine disaster, more questions are being raised about the contents of the tailings pond that breached. “They were taking in human waste, medical waste and solid waste from the Greater Vancouver area and they were bringing it onto the Mt. Polley site and dumping it,” said Kanahus Manuel of the Secwepemc Nation in a recent town hall meeting. Via CKNW.
