Here's a short video that serves as a "how to" lesson. If you've got a trout that wants to head into a logjam, but you can't get the right angle with the rod to pull him out, use this trick. Note that guide Patrick Fulkrod is not grabbing the line. Instead, he is simple serving as an extended rod guide, allowing the line to move freely around his hand. The results, which you'll see, are impressive.
