Video: Tying an Extended Body Light Cahill

Posted on June 16 2012

In this week’s featured fly-tying video, Matt Grobert demonstrates how to tie an Extended Body Light Cahill dry fly.  It’s a highly effective pattern that incorporates a unique arching wood-duck flank feather to create the abdomen and split, upturned tail.   As Grobert says: ” It is incredibly durable, fairly easy to tie, and works very well. You can adapt the pattern by changing size and body color to imitate green drakes, brown drakes and other large mayfly patterns.”
