Think West Nile virus is something you get only in wet lowlands? Mark and Janice Davis contracted West Nile virus from mosquito bites in northern Colorado in 2004 and are among the unlucky percentage who are suffering from the neuro-invasive form of the disease. “‘I crawled in and out of the doctor’s office,’ [Mark Davis] says. ‘Literally I was on my hands and knees… We spent the next 10 months so tired you’re just sitting there trying to get enough energy to walk 30 feet to go to the bathroom.'” Don’t forget your insect repellent this summer.
